New Twist Emerges As Rival Tries To Beat Celtic To Signing Of Highly Rated Championship Ace

Bournemouth have had two bids rejected for Peterborough forward Siriki Dembele, according to reports in the English media.

The 25-year-old’s contract with the English Championship side expires in the summer and the likes of Celtic, Rangers and Fulham have also been linked with signing the player on a free transfer.

However, Bournemouth have been trying to beat their rivals to Dembele’s signature by making a move this month, but Peterborough are said to be standing firm on their transfer stance.

The Posh are reportedly only considering offers for around £4m, which is very steep when you take into account his contract situation, but it suggests they are determined to keep him until the end of the season.

It’s very unlikely that the Hoops will attempt to sign Dembele in January but, if he does stay at Peterborough and runs down his current deal, there is a possibility that he could link up with his younger brother, Karamoko, by moving to Parkhead.
