Celtic are set to sign former Manchester City and Brighton midfielder Aaron Mooy on a free transfer, according to reports in the UK.
The Australian international doesn’t currently have a club after leaving Chinese Super League side Shanghai Port, but he is now expected to put pen to paper on a one-year contract with the Hoops.
While there are some fans on Twitter who are trusting the judgement of Ange Postecoglou, there are plenty questioning whether Mooy has the ability to make an impact at Parkhead:
Not for me!!! Never rated him!!! He’s no better than what we already have!!!

To be honest, it’s one of those signings where you don’t really have much to lose. While concerns about Mooy are justified, if it doesn’t work out then the Scottish champions can simply release him at the end of the season.
However, if the 31-year-old does put in some impressive performances, Celtic would have brought in a very good player without paying any sort of transfer fee.
