Celtic loan star Mohamed Elyounoussi could be signed on a permanent basis for £9m in the summer, according to reports in the Scottish media.
It had been claimed that the Saints had paid £16m for the 25-year-old, with the Swiss international said to be on £65,000 a week at St Mary’s. However, it appears he was signed for only £12m with his basic salary closely matching some of Celtic’s highest-earning players.
With that being the case, the majority of supporters on Twitter want the club to spend the money to keep Elyounoussi at the end of the season:
Pay it!!!
We're a better team with him in it.

Elyounoussi’s record for Celtic does suggest purchasing him could well be a wise move. The Swiss star has scored seven goals and contributed six assists in just 13 games since his arrival in the summer.
Although a foot injury has hampered him in recent weeks, if he can continue that sort of form on his return after the winter break, he could well be worth the outlay.
