Postecoglou Confirms Injury Return But Four Celtic Players Remain Sidelined For Europa League Clash

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Adam Montgomery is the only player who will return for the Europa League match against Ferencvaros tomorrow evening.

The 19-year-old missed the 2-0 victory over Motherwell at the weekend but Postecoglou says the left-back is back in training ahead of the midweek fixture:

“We have a clean bill of health from the weekend, everyone got through the game OK. Coming back in, the only change will be young Adam Montgomery is available. He trained with the team yesterday and today and came through unscathed. So he is ready to go and the rest will be very similar to the weekend.”

The likes of James Forrest, Christopher Jullien and Josip Juranovic are all believed to be close to making their first-team comebacks, although it appears the Ferencvaros game has come too soon for them.

First-choice left-back Greg Taylor remains sidelined with a shoulder injury for the long term so Postecoglou will have to choose between Montgomery and Boli Bolingoli ahead of the European tie.

Barring a penalty incident, Bolingoli performed quite well at Fir Park and there will be a temptation to keep him in ahead of an inexperienced player like Montgomery. We won’t have to wait long to find out who gets the nod with the match taking place at 3:30 tomorrow.
