Postecoglou Drops Hint That Celtic’s Second January Signing Is Already Quite Advanced

Outside of Celtic Park

Before Yuki Kobayashi’s move to Celtic was officially confirmed earlier today, manager Ange Postecoglou had already made some intriguing remarks about his January transfer plans.

The 57-year-old has said that he has at least two signings “lined up” which strongly suggests that another player will follow Kobayashi in through the door at Lennoxtown pretty soon:

“It’s fair to say there’s a couple lined up. It’s how we’ve done things and how I believe we need to be. It’s how I’m built. I don’t like rushing around last minute.”

In terms of who that player could be, it’s pretty difficult to tell at the moment. Matt O’Riley and Josip Juranovic have been linked with moves to teams south of the border so it could be the case that Postecoglou has a replacement for one of those two already.

Maccabi Tel-Aviv’s Oscar Gloukh is one name that does spring to mind, with the freshly capped Israeli international expected to be available during the January transfer window.

He may well be considered as a potential option if O’Riley leaves. When it comes to Juranovic, there haven’t really been any rumours about who could be the Croatian’s successor so we shall see if that changes in the coming weeks.
