Postecoglou Gives Surprising Answer As He Reveals Whether Celtic Could Sign Any More Players Ahead Of Deadline Day

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has not completely ruled out signing another player ahead of the transfer deadline next week.

Oh Hyeon-gyu finalised his move from Suwon Bluewings last week, taking the Hoops’ total to four January signings but, when asked if the Scottish champions are now done in terms of bringing in new recruits, Postecoglou said:

“I could say yes but then it would be boring for the next few days for all of us so I’ll just say we’ll stay agile and see what happens.”

Going by Postecoglou’s remarks, it’s safe to say that a new addition is only likely if an excellent opportunity arises. Celtic have already replaced Josip Juranovic with Alistair Johnston, and Giorgos Giakoumakis with Oh so there are no obvious holes in the squad that need to be filled.

Moritz Jenz’s departure also doesn’t have to be addressed following Yuki Kobayashi’s arrival this month, while they have added more depth in midfield after the recruitment of Tomoki Iwata. Pretty much every base has been covered so there is no pressure to make a mad trolley dash in the last few days of the window.
