Postecoglou Lining Up Swoop For 3M Rated International With 14 Goals In 27 Games This Season

Celtic are preparing a bid for Hibernian winger Martin Boyle, according to The Times reporter Ben Palmer.

The Hoops are said to be interested in the Australian international along with an unnamed club from Abu Dhabi:

Palmer says that Hibs are willing to sell Boyle for around £3m. The 28-year-old has been in very good form so far this season, having scored 14 goals in 27 appearances.

Manager Ange Postecoglou has followed Boyle’s progress, having played a role in persuading him to switch his allegiance to Australia when he could have played for Scotland.

Whether Celtic would be prepared to meet the winger’s asking price, though, is another matter. The Scottish club have already shelled out on three players during the January transfer window in Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi.

With negotiations currently underway to sign Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis, which could cost a total of £12m, it’s hard to see the Hoops shelling out another £3m on Boyle.
