Pundit Claims Celtic Boss Should Be In Contention For Vacant Chelsea Post

TalkSPORT pundit Danny Murphy believes Celtic head coach Ange Postecoglou should be considered for the vacant managerial position at Chelsea.

Thomas Tuchel was surprisingly sacked yesterday morning and, when asked who should top the list of potential replacements for the German, Murphy simply replied:

“Postecoglou!”

At the moment, it looks as if Brighton boss Graham Potter is the leading candidate for the job, with it being reported that the Seagulls have given Chelsea permission to speak with the 47-year-old.

Celtic supporters can, therefore, breathe easier knowing that Postecoglou is unlikely to be under consideration for the post, even though his efforts since moving to Parkhead do deserve wider acclaim.

After taking over a team that was in turmoil following the sacking of Neil Lennon, the Australian rebuilt the first-team squad in double quick time before regaining the title from Rangers in his first twelve months at the club.

Fans are now hoping Postecoglou will stay in Glasgow for the long term in order to begin another era of dominance for the green and white hoops.
