Celtic delivered an astonishing ultimatum to Motherwell midfielder David Turnbull via Twitter on Friday night.
The Hoops believe they have offered a “magnificent” wage and are now waiting for the player and his agent to decide whether to accept.
Some fans on Twitter believe the ultimatum was justified:
Quite right from Celtic. Great offer been made
Nearly £3m to Motherwell who were out of order releasing details. Agent chasing a couple of Grand extra looks like has back fired.

Good on you Bhoys. If his agent wants to mess about it’ll be the boys loss.
Let’s move on and get someone in who wants to play for us.
End of story.— Highland Paddy (@patcoyle56) 14 June 2019

If it doesn't happen ,so what.we could win the league with our current squad.less of the bed wetting from some fans please .

Give him till close of play tomorrow to sign or we withdraw.
Hopefully you have complained to Motherwell about going public before personal terms had been agreed.

I’m confident Celtic have made him a good offer, if he chooses to move to England for more money then he not wanting to play for Celtic and we move to players wanting to play for the club. Other areas need focus to help the squad and we have money to spend HH

While other supporters think Celtic should have just withdrawn from the race for Turnbull:
Withdraw the offer and move on!

Move on Celtic they are time wasters, their loss, not fit to wear the hoops in my opinion ?

Just move on now. Who does this guy think he is.

Reports suggest Celtic have offered ten times his weekly wage at Motherwell but interest from other clubs means the player is stalling on a move to Celtic Park.
English Championship teams, including Sheffield Wednesday, Bristol City and Barnsley are all said to be interested while EPL side Southampton are also believed to be monitoring the 19-year-old.
However, Celtic are reportedly the only team to match Motherwell’s £3m asking price and it remains to be seen whether any other club will make their move for the SFA Young Player of the Year.
