REPORT: Bundesliga Giants End Interest After Baulking At Celtic Marksman’s £26m Price Tag

Borussia Dortmund have decided against signing Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard, according to Ruhr24. The German publication claim that the Bundesliga side were not convinced that the Frenchman merited his €30m (£26m) asking price.

Scouts from Dortmund had been watching the striker regularly, but it appears they have now decided to move on to other targets.

Whether the Hoops would have let Edouard leave if Dortmund had offered €30m anyway, it is questionable, with the player’s excellent goal record this campaign suggesting he could fetch a lot more.

In any case, the German club’s decision to end their pursuit will no doubt delight Celtic fans and manager Neil Lennon who is hoping to tie down the 22-year-old to a new contract.

Edouard has two years remaining on his current deal at Parkhead, and the Scottish champions are keen to keep him as they aim to make it ten in a row next season.
