Respected Italian Journalist Claims Serie A Giants Will Have Meeting With Celtic ‘Next Week’ About 14M Deal

AC Milan are scheduled to have a meeting with Celtic “next week” about signing defender Kristoffer Ajer, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Sky Italy journalist works closely with Fabrizio Romano, with both Italian reporters known for their accuracy, so this news is a significant development in regards to the Norwegian’s future.

Di Marzio says that Milan are intending to pay only €15m (£14m) for Ajer, and they may even look to get the 22-year-old on an initial loan deal, with an obligation to buy him if he reaches a certain number of appearances.

It’s unlikely that such an offer from the Serie A side would interest Celtic with reports suggesting that the Scottish champions would demand in excess of £20m for the centre-back.

The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Leicester have also been mentioned as potential destinations in the past but Milan are currently the team who are the likeliest to step up their interest with a formal bid for the player.
