Rogic hails ‘club legend’ Scott Brown

Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic has heaped praise on club captain Scott Brown, calling the Scot a club legend.

Rogic played a key part in helping Celtic beat arch rivals Rangers on Saturday, scoring the first goal in a 2-0 victory. The Australian spoke highly of his captain after the game though, referring to Brown as a crucial player in the team.

“The skipper is massive for us.”

“He seems to win every 50-50 he goes into.”

“He gets us set up on the right foot. He is crucial for us.”

Brown has been involved in 28 Old Firm derbies during his decade at Celtic, winning 15. He has made over 400 appearances for the Hoops and won 13 trophies in the process, making him one of the most successful players to have ever donned the shirt.

Rogic hailed the captain after the derby, saying that Brown is exceptional.

“When you have your captain leading by example in almost all of your matches — you saw it in the cup-tie at Dundee as well — it’s just tremendous,” said Rogic about the Celtic skipper.

“Scott puts himself about for tackles and when the ball comes to him, he is calm and composed.”

“He’s been at this club for years now, he is a leader who leads by example. He’s been exceptional for a number of years now. He will be one that, when he stops playing, people will look back and see him as a real legend of the club.”

“We are fortunate to have a captain like him to play under. It makes our job easier. He’s been massive for me. He’s been at the club since day one for me.”

“He’s one of the few who are still here since I joined.”

“He doesn’t always have to say something to you, he just leads by example. It rubs off on his team-mates.”
