Yokohama F Marinos manager Ange Postecoglou has agreed to become Celtic’s next manager, according to Asian-based journalist Scott McIntyre.
It is believed the Australian will take up his new role at Parkhead when his current club have found a replacement for him:
My understanding is that a deal to take Ange Postecoglou to @CelticFC has been agreed, the only holdup is securing a release from his current club & the appointment of a suitable replacement. Long overdue move for one of the world’s most innovative & unrelenting coaches.

Supporters on Twitter are not exactly bowled over by the prospective appointment of Postecoglou with many feeling that the club lack the ambition to go after a manager with more pedigree:

Hopefully works out, although not many had heard of him untill Friday so it’s a big gamble by the club

In Postecoglou’s defence, he has had success with most of the teams he has managed, winning titles with South Melbourne, Brisbane Roar and Yokohama. He has also won the Asia Cup as Australia’s manager.
However, his lack of experience in European football, combined with the fact that he is coming to Scotland untested, with a team that needs a massive squad rebuild, means it is not a surprise to see fans saying it is a massive gamble.
