Teenage Wonderkid Ends Speculation About His Future Amid Celtic, Rangers And EPL Interest

Hearts striker James Wilson has signed a new two-year contract with the Scottish Premiership side.

Celtic and Rangers were both interested in signing the Northern Ireland Under 17 international, while the teenager’s performances at youth level had also attracted the attention of clubs south of the border.

Reports in recent months had linked Wilson with moves to Premier League sides Manchester United, Brighton, Fulham and Leeds, but the forward has opted to remain in Edinburgh to continue his development.

The 16-year-old has committed his future until 2025, although Hearts do have an option to extend his stay at Tynecastle for an additional twelve months.

It should be noted that Wilson has not made his senior debut for Hearts yet, but he has played for the B team in the Lowland League this season, and the player has suggested that the promise of first-team opportunities has convinced him to remain where he is.
