“That’s A No Brainer” Pundit Tells Celtic To Seal January Deal For 3M Rated Forward

Ex-Celtic player Davie Provan wants his former club to make a move for Hibernian striker Kevin Nisbet in the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old has struggled for form this season, having scored just three times in the Scottish Premiership, but Provan feels that the forward is well worth his £3m price tag:

“I said last summer Celtic should have signed Kevin Nisbet. I know his form has shaded but I think he is back to his best now. He looks a proper player, and what would you have to pay to Hibs, £3million? That’s a no-brainer. At his age, you are going to get your money back.”

Both Celtic and Rangers have been linked with Nisbet over the past six months, and the Scotland international does look like a decent player, but manager Ange Postecoglou may have set his sights further afield.

Daizen Maeda is the same age as Nisbet and he has racked up a very impressive 22 goals in 35 J-League appearances this campaign. The Japanese international has been heavily linked with a move to Celtic Park and he is someone that Postecoglou knows well after managing him at previous club Yokohama F. Marinos.

Especially considering how successful Kyogo Furuhashi has been since he arrived from Japan, it seems like Maeda could well be one of the next players to make the trip to Scotland from the Far East.
