‘Time For Him To Go’ ‘No End Product’ Fans Frustrated As Celtic Winger’s Struggles Continue

Celtic winger Mikey Johnston had a game to forget as the Hoops failed to break down a stubborn St Mirren side on Wednesday evening.

The 22-year-old played the full 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw, without making any real impact on the match, and many supporters on Twitter are asking why he is being handed opportunities by manager Ange Postecoglou:

While it is not an excuse for Johnston’s poor form, there is no doubt that his injury problems over the past few seasons have affected his development.

Having started him in the Scottish League Cup final and again at St Mirren Park, it seems Postecoglou does believe he merits being picked ahead of the likes of Adam Montgomery.

At the moment, though, despite being given chances, he is failing to impress. Of course, when the likes of Jota, James Forrest and Kyogo Furuhashi are all available, Johnston will probably not get a look in.
