‘Top Player’ ‘I Would Start Him With McGregor And Turnbull’ Fans Back Celtic Playmaker For Ross County Starting Spot

Outside of Celtic Park

Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley did make a positive impact when he came on against Rangers at the weekend.

Although the Hoops eventually lost the Scottish Cup semi-final in extra time, the Danish Under 21 international still played well after replacing the injured Liel Abada a Hampden Park.

When one supporter on Twitter suggested that O’Riley should start against Ross County on Sunday, many others backed his selection as well:

Considering O’Riley scored a brace after coming on in Celtic’s last league game versus St Johnstone a couple of weeks ago, the 21-year-old can’t really do a lot more to get into the starting lineup.

There is certainly competition for places in midfield, with Reo Hatate, Tom Rogic and Callum McGregor being favoured by manager Ange Postecoglou recently. However, with Hatate admitting in an interview that he is suffering from fatigue, it could be the right time to recall O’Riley. It will be interesting to see who starts at Victoria Park.
