Kenny Miller Urges Both Celtic And Rangers To Pursue “Absolutely Outstanding” Liverpool Loanee

Kenny Miller says Celtic and Rangers should be considering bids for Dundee left-back Owen Beck.

The Wales Under 21 international is on loan from Liverpool until the end of the season but, speaking about the defender, Miller said the two Glasgow teams must seriously consider buying the fullback:

“The games that I’ve seen him this year he’s been absolutely outstanding. This goes again to show the loans and opportunities that can be presented, from the big clubs in England up to Scotland to play.”

“I would expect, for me, maybe the big two up here to be having a look at this player. Both of them could do with a player in that area of the pitch and he’s been outstanding.”

Celtic are looking to strengthen their options on the left-hand side of defence

As Miller points out, the left-back position is an area that the Scottish champions could look to improve during the January transfer window.

Greg Taylor has not exactly been in the best of form this campaign, and it has already been reported that the Hoops will listen to offers for his understudy Alexandro Bernabei.

What do Celtic fans need to know about Beck?

The 21-year-old was born in Wrexham but he came through Liverpool’s youth academy, making his senior debut in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup against Preston North End in October 2021.

Beck went on to make his second appearance for the Reds in the quarter-final tie versus Leicester City but he hasn’t played for the first team since then.

The defender has been sent out on a number of loans, joining Portuguese side Famalicao for a month last year before heading to Bolton Wanderers for a six-month spell. After returning to Merseyside in January, he stayed until the summer when Dundee picked him up.
