Bologna are set to hold “talks” about signing Celtic attacking midfielder Rocco Vata, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Republic of Ireland Under 21 international’s contract will expire at the end of the season and he is already free to begin discussions with foreign teams about a move next summer.
However, Romano claims Bologna could sign Vata during the January transfer window, which has promptly led to a lot of anger among supporters on X:

There are a lot of teams pursuing Vata
The Irishman is clearly a very talented young player and that is demonstrated by the amount of interest being shown in the youngster.
In addition to Bologna, the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Nottingham Forest have all been linked with Vata, as well as several other clubs including Monaco, Roma, Juventus, AC Milan, Sampdoria, Inter Milan, Torino, Lazio and Frosinone.
Celtic’s stance on Vata’s future is perplexing
You would think that the Hoops would be trying to fast-track young talent into the first team but it appears the Scottish champions are willing to let the teenager leave for a minimal fee this month.
It may be the case that they want to sell him now as Vata has refused to sign a new contract but the player’s position is not surprising considering the lack of first-team opportunities he has been afforded.
