Club ‘Have Already Made Appointments’ With Agent As Battle Commences For Celtic Wonderkid

Sampdoria “have already made appointments” with the entourage of Celtic attacking midfielder Rocco Vata, according to Clubdoria46.it.

The Italian website follows up on recent reports that the likes of Juventus and Monaco have entered the race for the 18-year-old’s signature.

They claim Sampdoria believe that there is a “concrete possibility” Vata can be signed when his contract with the Hoops expires at the end of the season.

The Scottish champions have not entered discussions with the teenager’s representatives about extending his stay in Glasgow, and it looks likely that they will lose a very promising young player for minimal compensation.

If Vata moves abroad, Celtic will only get £340,000, which Sampdoria deem a “paltry figure” that is well worth paying for such a talent.

Is there any chance that Vata will remain at Celtic Park?

The most concerning thing about the whole situation is that it appears the Hoops’ board have not even attempted to offer the teenager a new deal.

Considering how highly rated Vata is, and the fact that he has performed well for the B team in the Lowland League this campaign, that stance seems perplexing. Perhaps they have already been told that the Irishman wants to leave in order to get more first-team football elsewhere.

It should be pointed out that, since the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as manager, Vata has not been named in a matchday squad.

Vata has a huge list of clubs interested in signing him

Clubdoria46.it report that Inter Milan, Torino, Lazio, Frosinone and Nottingham Forest are also circling the midfielder.

Last year, it was claimed that Arsenal, Manchester City, Roma and AC Milan were keeping tabs on Vata too, so there could be a dozen teams looking to snap him up next year.
