Celtic In Danger Of Losing Another Top Young Player As Anthony Joseph Confirms A “Number Of Clubs” Are “Keen”

Celtic winger Rocco Vata is attracting interest from a “number of clubs” across Europe, according to Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph.

The journalist claims that teams in three different countries are believed to be “keen” on signing the teenager:

Could Celtic lose another youngster?

In recent years, the likes of Liam Morrison (Bayern Munich) and Ben Doak (Liverpool have left Lennoxtown for different clubs even before they have made their senior debut.

Vata has already been given first-team opportunities, with previous manager Ange Postecoglou handing the 18-year-old his first appearance against Hibs last season.

However, as Joseph mentions, there are some warning signs that a departure could happen. Vata has less than a year left on his contract, and he still hasn’t signed an extension. On top of that, he has recently switched agents which usually is an indication that a player is seeking a transfer.

Vata is a very highly rated player

Captain Callum McGregor singled out the winger for praise earlier this year, stating he was impressed with his ability after he started training with the senior team at the start of last campaign:

“Rocco has been around the first team since pre-season and he’s done great.”

However, Vata’s talent has not gone unnoticed with teams such as Arsenal, Manchester City, Juventus, AC Milan and Roma having all been credited with an interest in the teenager over the past twelve months. Celtic will have to fight tooth and nail to keep him in Glasgow.
