Celtic captain Scott Brown has paid tribute to former Hoops defender and current Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk as he was awarded the Goal 50 Award for his performances over the last year.
The Scottish midfielder jokingly asked whether the Dutchman still remembered him before reminiscing on their time together at the club. Van Dijk also describes the amazing atmosphere at Celtic Park:
Does @VirgilvDijk remember @ScottBrown8?

It is great to see that Van Dijk has fond memories of his time at Celtic. The Dutch defender was a relative unknown when he arrived at the club, but he left for England with a budding reputation that fully bloomed into him becoming one of the best centre-backs in world football.
Manager Neil Lennon was the one who spotted the young defender when he was at Groningen and supporters will be hoping that the Hoops boss can find a few more hidden gems over the coming years.
