‘Well Deserved’ ‘Man Of The Match’ ‘Play Him With Edouard’ Fans On Social Media Delighted As Celtic Frontman Stars In Hearts Victory

Celtic striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo got off the mark for the Hoops with a double against Hearts yesterday afternoon. The Ivorian international has had to wait eight months for his first start for the club due to injury problems.

With Odsonne Edouard rested for the game, manager Neil Lennon opted to throw in Bayo and the striker took his chance to impress at Celtic Park in the 3-1 win. Fans on Twitter were delighted with the forward’s display:

After signing for £2m in January, Bayo made just one appearance for the first team in the second half of last season, coming on as a late substitute in the 1-0 win against Kilmarnock in late February.

The 22-year-old then had hamstring issues from March onwards and also struggled to find fitness this summer ahead of his first full season at the club.

Bayo will be hoping that his fitness problems are now behind him and that he can build on his first goals for the club in upcoming matches.
