‘A Great Move For Him’ Israeli Goal Machine Backed To Clinch £4.5m Switch To Celtic

Israeli legend Ronny Rosenthal has encouraged his fellow countryman Shon Weissman to seal a move to Celtic this summer.

The Hoops are one of a number of clubs who are reportedly tracking the Wolsfberger striker, who has scored 33 goals in 37 appearances for the Austrian club this season.

It has been claimed that Weissmann could be sold for £4.5m and former Liverpool star Rosenthal believes Celtic could be the right destination for the player:

“I think moving to Celtic could be a great move for him because the Scottish league is not so strong and it is important for him to play regularly and be important for the club he is going to.”

“I believe if he moves to a higher level he could find himself in competition with other players, and not playing regularly after scoring more than 30 goals in his first season would obviously be disappointing. I think Celtic could be interesting for him.”

Neil Lennon’s side do face an uphill battle to secure the Israeli international’s signature, with his agent having already said that the 24-year-old would prefer a move to England or Germany.

Celtic could, though, offer Weissmann the chance of playing in the Champions League, as well as the prospect of domestic honours.

The Scottish champions would, however, probably need to offload a striker before making a move for him, with Odsonne Edouard, Leigh Griffiths, Patryk Klimala and Vakoun Bayo all competing for places up front.
