Celtic are poised to sign AC Milan left-back Diego Laxalt on loan for the rest of the season, according to reports in both the English and Italian media.
There are still discussions underway over whether to include a purchase option in the deal. Milan want around €10m (£9m) to sell the player next summer but the Hoops have yet to agree to that part of the loan agreement.
Laxalt is, though, reportedly in London to have a medical in anticipation of the loan switch being agreed, and supporters on Twitter are happy that the Scottish champions have made their move to fix their issues on the left-hand side:
Exactly what we need

As a quick glance he can cross a ball and not scared to put it about. But when your EL opponents loan you a player?

Boy is a good player fast and strong and can play wing back at either side

The Hoops have made attempts to sign numerous left-backs this summer, with Charlton’s Alfie Doughty and Tottenham’s Ryan Sessegnon the most prominent names being mentioned.
However, the attempt to sign Laxalt has really come out of the blue. He does have a fair amount of experience, having been capped 24 times by Uruguay, and fans will be hoping he is a success at Celtic Park.
