Celtic have made an approach for Tottenham wingback Ryan Sessegnon, according to reports in the UK.
The England Under 21 international has fallen quite a way down the pecking order at Spurs with Ben Davies and new signing Sergio Reguilon now ahead of him in the battle for places.
However, the Hoops’ chances of signing Sessegnon appear somewhat low at the moment, with the finances of the deal said to be a major stumbling block. Even so, that hasn’t stopped supporters getting excited on Twitter:
Game changer if we pull this off

Can’t see this happening but I’d be totally behind it if it was true. He needs a new start and regular football to progress. I just find this hard to believe.

Reports suggest that there are also a number of English Premier League clubs interested in Sessegnon which may make a deal even harder to pull off.
Celtic are, though, determined to sign a new left wingback before the transfer window closes. They are also lining up another bid for Charlton’s Alfie Doughty, while players like Bristol City’s Niclas Eliasson and Aarhus’s Casper Hojer have also been looked at.
