Celtic right-back Josip Juranovic is “happy” at the Scottish champions and he doesn’t want to leave Parkhead this summer, according to Germanijak journalist Izak Ante Sucic.
Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano claimed that there are a number of English Premier League teams pursuing the Croatian international but Sucic believes that the player doesn’t want to “jeopardise” his place at the World Cup by moving clubs:
💥BOOOM!💥
Josip Juranovic to @premierleague? Right now – No! As per our sources, Jura is happy in @CelticFC, he’s plays regular and in less then a year he become fans favourite. Also, he doesn’t want to jeopardize his chances for WC in Qatar. Celtic wants at least £15m for Jura.— Ižak Ante Sučić (@IASucic) June 21, 2022
As Sucic also mentions, it appears that Celtic have also slapped a sky-high asking price of around £15m on Juranovic to scare off potential suitors.
While Romano is usually quite accurate when it comes to sourcing his stories, Sucic is likely to have better contacts, considering he is a Croatian journalist, so you would probably back him to be correct.
It should be noted that Sucic doesn’t explicitly state that there isn’t any interest from English clubs but, even if Celtic do receive bids for Juranovic, it seems the defender is more than willing to stay.
