Celtic right-back Anthony Ralston has not been called up by Scotland for the friendly against Poland later this month.
Despite the 23-year-old’s excellent form for the Hoops this season, manager Steve Clarke has opted to select Motherwell fullback Stephen O’Donnell and Everton’s Nathan Patterson instead.
Suffice to say, supporters on Twitter are flabbergasted by the decision to snub Ralston, especially when the likes of O’Donnell and Patterson having exactly been in their best form recently:
How Patterson can get selected with so few games played is utterly bizarre. Under these parameters, Forrest and Ralston should be in. But…don’t care at this time of the season!

O’Donnell has been part of a Motherwell that hasn’t won since Boxing Day in the league, with the right-back having failed to register a single goal or assist this season.
Patterson, meanwhile, has only played 45 minutes of football since his £11.5m move from Rangers to Everton in January, having been substituted at halftime in a FA Cup tie against fifth-tier Boreham Wood.
In stark contrast, Ralston has racked up five goals and seven assists in 39 appearances for Celtic. It is truly astonishing that he has been overlooked.
