Agbonlahor Calls On EPL Rival To “Hijack” Leicester’s Move For 18M Rated Celtic Marksman

Gabriel Agbonlahor is hoping that his former club Aston Villa make a late move for Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard.

Leicester are thought to be the red-hot favourites to land the 23-year-old, despite the likes of Arsenal, West Ham, Southampton, Brighton and Villa also reportedly being interested in the striker.

Agbonlahor says he rates Edouard highly, comparing him to another ex-Celtic player Moussa Dembele, and he believes Villa should be doing all they can to stop the Foxes from signing the Frenchman:

“I’ve said it for so long about Edouard. I rate him highly. If I had the money, I’d buy him myself. I think he’s outstanding and I’d love him at Aston Villa as the second striker behind Watkins. I think he’d be an outstanding player to bring on during games or to help Watkins. I think Aston Villa should hijack Leicester and go and get him. I watched him and he reminds me of Dembele when he was at Celtic. They’re both similar players and, at his age, he can only get better.”

At this stage, it does seem likely that Edouard will end up at the King Power Stadium, but Celtic would almost certainly be up for a bidding war if Villa or another team get involved.

Edouard has one year remaining on his contract at Parkhead, and it is believed the Hoops may only get between £15m and £18m for the player. His departure looks almost guaranteed but there could still be some twists and turns in terms of where he ends up.
