Celtic have offered £3m to sign Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors striker Cho Gue-sung, according to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph.

The reporter has confirmed that the Scottish champions have outbid Bundesliga club Mainz for the South Korean international but there is still a chance that Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros could also make their own offer:

To be honest with you, if it is a straight choice between the Hoops and Ferencvaros, there is every chance that Cho would favour a move to Scotland.

Not only can Celtic offer the 24-year-old a better salary but, if they secure the Premiership title, they can also guarantee him games in the group stages of the Champions League.

Cho’s potential arrival at Parkhead likely spells the end of Giorgos Giakoumakis’s time in Glasgow. The Greek international has refused to sign a new deal and it is believed that he is attracting interest from J League side Urawa Red Diamonds.
