Celtic Could Be Set For Massive Transfer Windfall If Bundesliga Star’s Price Tag Proves To Be Accurate

Celtic may be set to receive a sizeable sell-on fee for Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong, if reports from Spain are to be believed.

Transfer rumour website Fichajes.net claims that Real Madrid are interested in the Netherlands international but Leverkusen may hold out for a fee in the region of €40m (£35m) to €50m (£44m) for the defender.

That is double the amount that has been reported as Frimpong’s valuation previously, and it could lead to the Hoops collecting a sizeable seven-figure windfall.

Frimpong has been in excellent form for Leverkusen this season, having racked up five goals and three assists in 21 appearances. The Dutchman is certainly in high demand with both Manchester United and Chelsea having also been linked with the 22-year-old ahead of the January transfer window.

Leverkusen can, therefore, afford to push up the fullback’s price, although whether they will actually hold out for the figure mentioned, it remains to be seen.
