Celtic Could Receive Transfer Windfall As It Emerges That Manchester United Have Revived Interest In French Ace

Manchester United have reignited their interest in ex-Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, according to reports in the French media.

With Cristiano Ronaldo angling for a transfer away from Old Trafford, the Premier League side are considering bringing in two players to replace the Portuguese legend.

Dembele is one of the names reportedly under discussion, with United believed to have made contact with the Lyon star’s representatives about a potential move.

If the forward does leave France, Celtic could be owed 10% to 15% of the fee, although the details of the sell-on clause are pretty sketchy. Nonetheless, the Scottish champions could potentially be in for a decent payday.

There was hope a couple of years ago, when Dembele moved to Atletico Madrid on loan (with an option to buy), that the Hoops could receive a financial windfall. However, the La Liga side opted against signing the Frenchman on a permanent basis and he returned to Lyon. It remains to be seen, though, how things will turn out this time around.
