Celtic have denied claims in France that Monaco have had a bid rejected for striker Odsonne Edouard, according to reports in the Scottish media.

It was said that the Ligue One side made their approach for the 22-year-old over the weekend, but the Hoops are believed to be denying that any contact was made regarding the forward.

In any case, it appears Edouard will not be moving clubs during the January transfer window, which will come as a huge relief to Celtic fans who see him as a key figure in the club’s attempts to seal nine league titles in a row.

His importance to the team was again showcased on Saturday when the Frenchman came off the bench to score a quickfire double against Ross County.
