Celtic Handed Relatively Kind Draw In Europa League Round Of 32

Celtic will play FC Copenhagen in the last 32 of the Europa League, it has been announced. The Danish club came through the group stages after finishing second behind Malmo and ahead of Dynamo Kyiv.

However, they have not beaten anyone of note this season. The Superliga side scraped a 3-0 aggregate win over Welsh part-timers New Saints in the second qualifying round of the Champions League back in July. They then lost out to Red Star Belgrade before dropping into the Europa League.

In their domestic competition, they currently trail FC Midtylland by seven points, although they do have a game in hand. Even so, Midtylland were knocked out by Rangers in a Europa League playoff round back in August.

All in all, Hoops boss Neil Lennon will be very happy with the draw, considering they could have got the likes of Bayer Leverkusen, Roma, Shakhtar Donetsk, Sporting Lisbon or Wolves instead.
