Celtic Now Trailing In Four Way Race To Secure 13 Cap International Winger On A Free

Trabzonspor are pushing ahead with their plans to secure Nimes winger Zinedine Ferhat on a pre-contract agreement, according to reports in the French media.

Celtic, Montpellier and Saint-Etienne are also said to be involved in the battle to sign the Algerian on a free transfer in the summer.

Ferhat has been heavily linked with rivals Rangers over the past year and, with Liel Abada and James Forrest both competing for a place on the right-wing, it is hard to see where the 28-year-old would fit into Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou’s plans.

It seems unlikely, therefore, that the Scottish club will make a move for Ferhat, with Trabzonspor clear favourites to secure the player’s signature.

The Turkish club’s head coach Abdullah Avci is thought to be a big fan of the Algerian international, who has 13 caps for his country, and talks are expected to begin with the winger’s representatives in the next few days.
