Celtic Target Admits “Several” Clubs Are Watching Him But He’s Unsure Of January Switch

Le Mans winger Stephane Diarra says he is flattered by the interest being shown in him. The French press have claimed that Celtic, Newcastle and Leicester have all been keeping tabs on the Ligue Two star.

When asked about the speculation, the 21-year-old said he was happy to be linked with other teams, but he wasn’t focused on leaving his current club in the January transfer window:

“My goal is to play as many games as possible. It’s good to know that several clubs follow you, but leaving Le Mans this winter? I don’t know. I need to stay focused on my season. I’ll watch what is going on and we will see.”

Diarra has been a regular for his club this campaign, having scored three goals and provided two assists in 21 appearances with his team currently sitting 18th in France’s second tier.

The Ivorian only joined Le Mans from Rennes on a permanent basis in the summer, having spent last season on loan with the French side in the third division.

Diarra generally plays off the right flank, but he can also be employed on the left-wing, with the player strongest on his left foot.
