Peterborough forward Siriki Dembele “will be placed on the transfer list” unless he signs a new contract, according to the Peterborough Telegraph.
The Posh’s chairman Darragh MacAnthony confirmed earlier this month that the newly-promoted Championship club would be trying to extend the 25-year-old’s current deal, which expires in 2022.
However, the Peterborough Telegraph claim no talks have taken place and Dembele will be offloaded unless there are any new developments. This will be a boost to Celtic, who are thought to be interested in the player.
The Hoops, along with Rangers, Wolves, Crystal Palace and Fulham have all been linked with the forward in recent months. He has performed pretty well this campaign, having scored 12 goals and provided 12 assists in 45 appearances, but Peterborough’s asking price could be a major obstacle.
It is believed that they will demand around £3m for Dembele, despite his contract situation and the fact that the player seems to be keen on leaving.
