Celtic defender Carl Starfelt is attracting interest from English Premier League teams, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist claims there are a number of clubs “following” the Swedish international ahead of the summer transfer window:

Starfelt was snapped up from Rubin Kazan for £4.2m in July 2021, and he was one of Ange Postecoglou‘s first signings after being appointed as manager at Celtic Park.
However, despite establishing himself as a regular starter in the centre of defence alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers, the 27-year-old has not always looked convincing.
Starfelt’s main issue is that he does struggle to play the ball out from the back, which is a key part of a center-back’s responsibilities in a Postecoglou team. He is, though, more consistent when asked to do the basics.
The fact that he has been part of a side that has conceded just 18 times in 25 league matches, having dropped only five points all season, suggests he is doing what’s asked of him. As Romano points out, Celtic are keen to keep hold of the player so any bids could be knocked back anyway.
