Serie A champions Juventus are keeping tabs on Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard, according to reports in the Italian media.
The Bianconeri have been struggling for goals this season and the Italian club’s sporting director Fabio Paratici has been tasked with finding a new forward. One of the names on the list is Edouard but it is believed that the Hoops would demand around €30m (£27m) for the Frenchman.
Supporters on Twitter had a mixed reaction to the story. Some don’t believe Edouard is worth that amount considering his poor form this season and would be open to selling, while others feel it would all but end the club’s hopes of winning the title if he is sold:
£30m! Get him on the plane

If Celtic sell Edouard in January, PL will be extinguishing the dying embers of ten-in-a-row.
Even Edouard operating at 60-70% of his capabilities is worth more to Celtic than the two guys waiting in the wings to fill his boots.
Despite all that, I expect us to sell him.

eddy wants away.
planning to hold him against his will wont work
early season displays have shown how that works— tamrabam (@tamrabam1) December 28, 2020
I’d take it.

Bite their hand off for 30m , his head is somewhere else. Get someone else who wants to play for us.

Goodness me – our second ever opportunity for #10IAR and some guys are wanting to cash in. He is our best player- we can’t castigate Hooper for taking the money when many here are suggesting the same 4 OE. 2Many have bought into the corporate paradigm hook line and sinker. #COYBG

Be very lucky if we get 20 the way he has played this season and the attitude he has shown, if we win on Saturday it will be a massive lift for everyone including Eddy and then it’s game on but if we don’t cash in big time with only 18month contract left ☘️

If the first half of the season has taught us anything its we need players who want to be here. Surely Celtic have a back up plan if he goes?

It would be a very difficult decision if Juve, or another club like Aston Villa, Crystal Palace or Arsenal, were to make a formal offer for Edouard. On the one hand, the 22-year-old has just eighteen months left on his contract, and his value will only depreciate, so receiving a sizeable sum for him in January would make sense financially.
However, the likelihood of finding a replacement of a similar quality next month is very low and if they can’t replace Edouard, that would damage the club’s chances of winning ten titles in a row.
