With Bournemouth having confirmed that winger Jordon Ibe will be released at the end of his contract this month, rumours have resurfaced about a possible switch to Celtic.
The Hoops were reportedly interested in signing the 24-year-old on loan last summer but the former Liverpool player’s wages were said to have put a stop to negotiations.
However, with Ibe now available on a free, supporters on Twitter have been discussing whether manager Neil Lennon should take a risk on him:
Exactly that, you don’t just breakthrough at a giant club like Liverpool with ease, you must have talent and he showed that at brief times, got to give him his chance

3 goals in 78 appearances for Bournemouth since 2016. 16 goals in nearly 200 games this far in his career. Will demand high wages. Too big a risk imo, would rather see K. Dembele and M. Johnston playing.

Based on Rodgers knowing him and his performances in the championship for Swansea I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I don't see anything from Ibe that comes close to Sinclairs history before Celtic.

No.

Without a doubt, anyone who says no hasnt a clue, fairly young and with something to prove.

His record with Bournemouth doesn’t make for good reading, having scored just five goals in 92 appearances following his £15m to the south coast in 2016.
Ibe was heralded as a promising young talent when he broke into Liverpool’s first team but that was a long time ago and any comparisons to Scott Sinclair are tenuous at best.
The Englishman had already starred for Swansea in the Championship and the Premier League, before struggling at Manchester City and Aston Villa. Unlike Ibe, he did have a proven track record.
With the player available on a free, though, Lennon may think it is worth taking a chance.
