Patrick Roberts signed an eighteen-month loan deal with Celtic five years ago this month and fans have been debating whether the Hoops could do with having the Englishman in their current team.
The 23-year-old has struggled for game time during a loan spell with Championship side Middlesbrough this season and most supporters on Twitter think the time has passed for the winger to be considered a genuine target:
No chance, he’s failed everywhere he’s been since he left us.

Roberts won three league titles, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups during his stay in Scotland, which is certainly a very impressive trophy haul, considering the short time he spent with the club.
However, since leaving the Hoops, he has had failed loan spells at Norwich City and Girona while, this campaign, he has managed just ten appearances for Boro and five starts in total. His manager Neil Warnock has said he has received no enquiries about the player and due to his team’s injury problems, he wants to keep the playmaker, so there is very little chance of him moving north of the border before the transfer deadline.
