Celtic winger Liel Abada scored on his debut as the Hoops battled to a 1-1 draw against FC Midtjylland in the Champions League last night.
The Israeli has had only three training sessions with his new teammates after sealing his £3.4m transfer from Maccabi Petah Tikva but, before the game, manager Ange Postecoglou explained that he was forced to select him due to injuries to other players.
Despite the difficult circumstances, though, Abada stepped up to the plate by scoring the opener before having to be substituted following Nir Bitton’s red card. Fans on Twitter were delighted with the teenager’s contribution:
What a player btw!

Considering he is only 19 years of age, he showed real confidence on the ball, suggesting he does have the potential to make a real impact at the Scottish club.
Of course, supporters shouldn’t be making any sweeping judgements after his first game but he has certainly gotten his Celtic career off to a great start.
