Journalist Confirms Celtic And Rangers Have ‘Joined’ The Race To Sign Spurs Starlet

Celtic and Rangers have “joined” Bournemouth, West Brom and QPR in pursuing Tottenham winger Dilan Markanday, according to Jack Rosser.

The Evening Standard journalist reports that the 20-year-old is attracting a lot of interest after making his senior debut for Spurs in the Europa Conference League game against Vitesse back in October:

Markanday’s current contract with Tottenham expires at the end of the season and the London club want him to sign an extension before going out on loan to gain more first-team experience.

The wide man has been in prolific form in Premier League 2 so far this campaign, scoring 11 goals in 12 appearances for the Under 23s, and he needs to make the next step in his career.

If Markanday does not put pen to paper on a new deal, though, he could sign a pre-contract with Celtic or another club outside of England next month. The Hoops would only have to pay £250,000 in compensation due to cross-border rules.
