Kieran Tierney Reveals He Is Taking “Tips” From Celtic Star Who Has Been One Of The Hoops’ “Best Players This Season”

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney says he has been taking inspiration from Celtic’s Greg Taylor about how to play the “inverted full-back” position.

Tierney has only recently begun learning the role and, with Taylor knowing more about the ‘do’s’ and ‘don’ts’, having spent a year working under Ange Postecoglou, the Hoops’ player has been offering up some tips, which Tierney is gladly taking on board:

“Aye, [Taylor’s been] brilliant. Inverted full-back, that’s how we play down there [at Arsenal]. I watch him every week, trying to take tips from him. It’s brilliant to see him doing so well because he’s a great guy. I’m really close to him, I speak to him a lot. So yeah, I’m buzzing for him. We watch each other’s games, always, and text each other as well. It’s a new role for me and it’s a role where he’s really comfortable in. It’s great to watch him and he’s been one of Celtic’s best players this season.”

Taylor has been in outstanding form so far this campaign so the praise from Tierney is fully warranted. Many supporters had doubts about the 24-year-old when he first arrived at Parkhead and question marks lingered over his ability during his first couple of years with Celtic.

However, over the past six to twelve months, the left-back’s game has gone on to a different level. There are certainly not many left among the fanbase who are still asking whether he deserves a place in the Hoops’ starting lineup.
