Lennon Names One Celtic Star Who Will Get His Chance Against Partick Tonight

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that Vakoun Issouf Bayo will start against Partick Thistle in the League Cup quarter-final this evening.

The Hoops are expected to ring the changes, and Lennon says that the Ivorian forward will be given his chance to shine, while naming a few other players who could be in contention for the starting line up:

“The likes of Vakoun Bayo will come in. Tom Rogic, Lewis Morgan and Jonny Hayes will also come into our thinking.”

Bayo has only started once this season, which came in the 3-1 win against Hearts in late August. He was originally credited with two goals in the game, only for them to be reclassified as own goals.

The 22-year-old’s only other major contribution this season came in the 1-1 draw against Rennes in the Europa League earlier this month when he was sent off after receiving two yellow cards.

Bayo had only come on with six minutes left to go but was given his marching orders as the game went into injury time following two bookable offences in the space of a few minutes.
