Celtic defender Greg Taylor did not have his best game in the 2-2 draw against Livingston last night. The £2m summer signing failed to make any telling contribution in the final third of the pitch despite playing at wingback.
Supporters on Twitter have asked why manager Neil Lennon continues to select him in the starting eleven considering his ineffectiveness:
Greg Taylor is not the answer at left/wing back, Bolingoli in on Sunday for me

Said last week that I didn't think Greg Taylor was good enough at left back and yesterday's performance certainly didn't convince me otherwise!!!!!

I think Greg Taylor is decent but the way we play he needs to attack his man more .

Greg Taylor was a waste of £2m.
Loan him back to Killie until his contract ends.— Connor (@_CLMike_) March 4, 2020
Greg Taylor, good full back, bad wing back
Boli Bolingoli, bad full back, good wing back— Connor (@_CLMike_) March 4, 2020
Greg Taylor trending. Not surprised. He was honking. Rightly identified as the weak link tonight.

Greg Taylor is sooo bad. Johnny hayes was average 5 years ago and rest said about that other guy the better. New left back is a priority

Taylor is a solid fullback, but he plays too conservatively when on the ball. He fails to take on his man and passes inside too often when he has the option to move into space.
Some fans think either Boli Bolingoli or Jonny Hayes should be given more opportunities in the wingback role. It can be argued that both are far more effective when attacking than Taylor, but it seems Lennon is convinced that the Scottish international is his safest bet at the moment. Whether he’ll make a change for this weekend’s game against St Mirren, we shall have to wait and see.
