Postecoglou Delivers New Transfer Update On Wantaway Celtic Pair

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou says neither Josip Juranovic nor Giorgos Giakoumakis are close to leaving Parkhead.

Juranovic has been linked with a loan move to Monza, while the likes of Roma, Torino, Chelsea and Manchester United have also been mentioned as potential suitors. Giorgos Giakoumakis is said to be a target for J League side Urawa Red Diamonds and Italian side Sampdoria. However, Postecoglou says nothing has advanced to the stage where has been made aware that a sale is imminent:

“I keep getting asked questions about Giako and Josip. I watch them every day and they are training hard, their attitude is first-rate. They are not sitting around moping. There is going to be speculation between now and the end of the window. [Chief Executive] Michael Nicholson deals with the majority of that. If it gets to me, we know it is serious, but as of now there is nothing we need to address.”

While the Hoops would like to keep hold of Juranovic and Giakoumakis, both players are thought to be keen on moving clubs after failing to agree new contracts with the Scottish champions.

Reports suggest that Celtic are looking for around £17m to sell Juranovic, while Giakoumakis’s asking price is approximately £6m, so we shall see if any team is willing to match the club’s valuation of the two players.
