Celtic have turned down the opportunity to sign Rubin Kazan winger Sead Haksabanovic, according to reports in the Swedish media.
The Montenegrin, who has been capped 28 times by his country, was offered to the Scottish champions but the Hoops were not prepared to enter talks with Rubin Kazan after previous issues with Carl Starfelt’s transfer.
Supporters on Twitter don’t believe that signing a winger should be a priority anyway, although some feel Haksabanovic could have been an improvement on some of the options that manager Ange Postecoglou currently has at his disposal:
Rather have him than Forrest tbh.

No wonder, dealing with a Russian club does seem like it would be difficult rn.

So surely we are looking for a winger then?

For a good LW (bonus if they can play across front 3) James Forrest and we do really still need a CDM anyway 🤞

You’d have to say that signing someone like Haksabanovic really isn’t top of the agenda for Postecoglou. The Celtic boss has plenty of wingers he can call upon, including Jota, James Forrest, Liel Ababa and Daizen Maeda, with Kyogo Furuhashi also able to play out wide if needed.
As some have pointed out, recruiting a holding midfielder is something that the club should be focusing on during the final few weeks of the transfer window.
