“The Truth Is…” Celtic Target Speaks Out On His Future As Club Table Improved Bid

Argentinos Juniors midfielder Fausto Vera has revealed that there is a 50/50 chance of him moving clubs this summer.

Celtic have been linked with the Argentinian Under 23 international over the past couple of weeks. However, Belgian side Genk and Brazilian club Corinthians are believed to be the only two teams that have made formal bids so far, with the former having recently improved their offer. Speaking out about his future, Vera said that a move to Europe would appeal to him, and he could not rule out the possibility:

“I would tell you that today the chance of leaving is at a 5 (out of 10). There can always be offers and polls. But until the decision is made and the papers are signed, I’m still here at the club. The possibility of taking a leap in my career, the truth is that it’s what I want.”

At this stage, it seems unlikely that Ange Postecoglou’s side will get involved, especially as it appears that Argentinos Juniors want a bidding war.

The Scottish champions have recently recruited another midfielder, with the signing of Aaron Mooy on a free transfer having been announced by the club today, but the Australian isn’t really a defensively-minded player.

Vera, on the other hand, would be a better fit but, with Genk said to be willing to pay as much as €6m (£5.1m) for the 23-year-old, it may price Celtic out of a move.
