Celtic boss Neil Lennon gave midfielder Ismaila Soro his debut against Ross County in the 5-0 win on Saturday and supporters were impressed by what they saw of the 22-year-old.
Although it was a brief 15-minute cameo from the Ivorian, fans on Twitter have been calling on Lennon to give Soro more games over the coming weeks and months following his first appearance:
Very good player ???☘️☘️

Really think this guy could be the goods. I hope he gets a bit of a run in the team.

Looks like a bundle of energy. Will reserve judgment until he comes up against tougher opposition but def deserves more game time or what's the point in him being around

He's basically the mold of Kante.

I'd like to see him rotating with Broony over the course of the season. Would make sense to have Broony play 3 games & then rest for 1 game with Soro in his place

Gives off a wanyama vibe in the sense of he’s not scared to get stuck in and is like a battering ram when making a challenge, I know physical wise he doesn’t look like it but that’s what I think from what I’ve seen so far of him and also can pick a pass, look forward to more

Soro’s lack of game time since his £2m move from Bnei Yehuda in the January transfer window has perplexed some supporters but it is thought that the midfielder needed to adapt to both the team’s style of play as well as Scottish football in general.
With the global health crisis having curtailed the second half of last season, there weren’t many opportunities to give the player minutes on the pitch, but he has been in every matchday squad for league games this campaign suggesting he is in Lennon’s plans for the future.
